This is a nice follow-up to "Lovingly Chaotic Nightmares". Your technique is a lot sharper in this piece. The incorporation of the projector adds a lot to the piece, it is just unfortunate that there's so much distance between the wall and the pumpkin. The black area between the top of the pumpkin and the projection is a bit distracting, and I would have loved to see things tightened up just a bit. All that said, it's a marvelous work and your effort shows through.

As a fellow pumpkin carver, I would like to ask if you practice during the non-halloween season. If so, what do you practice with?

To be honest I actually don't really practice.  I actually have a line up of other pumpkins to make for other people before I do my own.  In a way it's a quick way to get back in the mood of things before I attempt whatever crazy idea I decide to do.

Just incredible, so much detail.  And I love the projector in the back idea.

That's so cool! How'd you project the image on the wall behind the pumpkin?

What are you using for the background ponies? Some sort of projector? Either way it looks awesome! And Chrysalis looks so widely perfect. Major props!

Actually yes there is a sort of projector with this.
On the back of the pumpkin is a transparency of the image. So if I move the pumpkin the image will show anywhere.

Oh, that is an extremely clever idea. And the carving on the front is incredible. If I could fave this more than once, I totally would!

I feel like you have single handedly (hoovedly?) blown every other Jack-o-lantern to bits with your intense talent. That is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! That's no joke friends.
